Ku-chuan Hsiao

Ku-chuan Hsiao is a genetic engineer with advanced degrees in human physiology and biophysics, specializing in drug discovery. It was quite by accident that he began his journey into bird/small animal photography. It all started when taking random reference photos of birds for his artist wife. Since their home abuts a wildlife refuge in the forests of New England, a large variety of birds fly through according to the season. As time progressed, Ku-chuan developed methods for photographing the birds in-flight so that the lovely fluid detail in the design of the wings can be seen. Some close-up shots even capture the different expressions of the birds’ "faces", appearing as if each bird has its own personality. He hopes that his photos bring you a sense of joy as we admire God's creation.
