Love of
fabrics is the driving force in my art - the tactile qualities, the colors
that change when the light or the fabric next to it changes, and the
real and implied textures that add depth to creations. My artistic task
is to bring together very disparate fabrics - each with its own color,
pattern and texture- in a new composition that works as a whole. Lately
I've been concentrating on creating one-of-a-kind art-to-wear jackets
which combine my love of quilting and surface design.
My art
quilts have been displayed in numerous venues, including the New England
Quilt Museum, The Whistler Museum, the Revolving Museum, and the Brush
Gallery. Since 2002 my daughter, Sonja, and I have been partners in
Friends Fabric Art, a retail fabric arts business that has developed a
national and international reputation in the field of fiber art. |
